Yesterday (monday) I was driving to work w/ the system full blast when I noticed that my bass went down. I could still hear some but not what im used to. I decide to turn the subs off cuz im thinkin the amp is gettin hot so Im gonna let cool off. Funny thing is I only had the system going for about 15 minutes. I had the subs off untill I got home yesterday (monday). When I got home I turned the subs on again hoping that the amp would be working. Nope they werent, so I turn the truck off and thats when heard a *poof* sound from my back seat, I turn around and see smoke coming out from behind my rear seat. Im gonna try to take it to the stereo shop to get another amp maybe tomorrow or Thursday, until then no subs :bawl: . Thats problem #1, problem #2 is: This morning (tuesday) I try starting my truck w/ my remote start, I wait a couple seconds and listen for the exhaust sound...nothing. I hit the buttons again and wait for the exhaust...nothing. Im like :wtf: and go outside to the truck, I take the alarm off and notice the chirp is really low. I pull the handle and the doors are still locked. I open the door w/ the key, get in and try to start the truck w/ the key...nothing. I dont have any current what so ever. The gauges dont even move...NOTHING. At this point im like :wtf: could it be. I jump start the truck w/ my moms truck and think everything is fine. I go to work for about half an hour then leave to see my uncle in the hospital. I get there around 1 p.m and the truck sits untill I try to start it to come home at about 1 a.m. As Im walking to the parking lot I hit the buttons on my remote to start the truck...NOTHING. I get closer and take the alarm off and notice the chirp is low again. I open it w/ the key and try to start it w/ the key and NOTHING. Luckily I still had the cables in my truck, so I get my cousins car and jump my truck.

Here's the question: What could have happened to make the battery die? Could the amp blowing have caused a shortage somewhere and its making the battery die while the truck is off?

Thanks for the help in advance.

By the way this is sierraon22s not El Padrote posting.

sounds like you need to go to Autozone and get it tested. Maybe a cell or 2 died along the way

It's cuz the comp acts funny sometimes, sometimes it'll let us log out from one screen name to another, sometimes it doesn't. Or sometimes it only lets us log off when I'm on my sn on aol, my bro can't do it from his sn on aol.
