hes puting this in a 86 monte carlo and i'm building a s10 with a 5.3l 350th trans


454 2 bolt GM block
eagle 4.250" steel crank
eagle forged 6.385" rods
srp forged 4.280 flat top pistons
crane z 244/256 .632/.632 114 blower cam
PATRIOT 320 cc heads (titanium retainers, comp springs, manley severe duty valves)
harland sharp 1.7 roller rockers
weiand 871 polished blower 7lbs
2 x 800cfm barry grant blower carbs(82 & 75 jets)
csr electric water pump
hooker super comp 2" headers

Dyno'd w/ 1 7/8" headers (should be 845-850 w/ 2" coated hookers)

815 HP @ 6400RPM
742 TQ @ 4500RPM

i'm gonna be doing a 6l in this truck once i find one the 5.3 was free and has 40k on it , so whats the most i can get out of the 5.3 with twin turbos i got two of these i had for a old project and a ZEX LS1/LS6 Adjustable Wet Nitrous System.

i was just gonna run the 5.3 and cam it and leave it pretty much stock and add the nos kit
but i had these tubro's laying around and all the stuff to turbo it figued it would be fun and would be up close to him with some tuning
I have $3000 more to spend on this project the trucks a 88 s10 blazer 2dr and has been striped to just a shell with 2 seats and the rear springs are mounted on the inside of the frame rails and the front cross member was cut out and a tube one was being made to save weight

:roflbow: I see 5.3's putting down 800 rwhp everyday, its easy :crazy:

Considering they come from the factory around 775HP, a K&N cold air intake and a Tornado should do the trick :shake:

That would be doable, but its not all about horsepower. For one hes using a th350 which I dont think can run a lockup converter so hes going to loose a lot of power as far as a dyno is concerned.

And the 454 was on an engine dyno Im guessing. That car will probably do 650 or so to the tires depending on converter/trans/rear end, etc.

Whats the car weigh and what does your s10 weigh? And whats the rest of his setup like?

i'm thinkin cause of the weight of the s10 with fiber glass fenders and hood compared to his monte i'll be alot less cause hes got full interior and a 12 point cage and all steel parts still and 10inch wide tires i'm just trying to get it to run close to his times were both on the race to finish by the long weekend in aug for the races here

hes got a 400turbo trans with a 9.5 boost converter he said 3000 stall and a ford 9 inch with 4'10's
