My project....

While in welding class 2 years ago i made a custom box for my intake for a project, turned out pretty good...


I loved how the truck ran and looked but i wanted more, a few months after joining ls1truck i ditched the shorties, and grabbed me a nelsons tune and some new headers.

While moving back home i had a headlight bite the dust so i decided to upgrade.

I did alittle research over a year or so and decided i needed to look for a cam. i read and read but never could figure out what i wanted, i finally found a great deal on a used tr 220 cam with harden push rods.


With the cam swap i also decided to upgrade to ls& lifters

It took me about 3 months to get all the other parts together but finally did, with the help of my roomie we got the cam put in

I came home from work and my roomie already had it torn down





I installed the new ls7 springs and cleaned up the heads alittle




Not to long after we started putting the heads and intake manifold back on

We got the truck running and it sounded great


I also had my interment cluster go out so had to upgraded that as well


About 2 months after the cam swap my truck started smoking alot, we ran a bunch of test and couldn't come up with any other answer but a cracked head. So i did alot of saving and had a buddie hook me up with a set of custom heads and a ported to match intake

Its been a long four years, but im making pretty decent progress, im currently trying to get a stall. and gears hopefully. future plans include boost. well see... stay tuned for more :secret2:

when i got all the parts to do the heads i also decided to make me a custom set of elc fans... set me back about $120 i love them.

got them off ebay there run 5400 cfm i belive.

i think that they turned out pretty good. and my temps dropped a good 15-20*

A few months go by and everything running great but i decide to bite the bullet and get a stall for the truck. so i ended up getting a tru-cool 40k tranny cooler and this bad boy






Called chris from Circle-d and he hooked me up with a 3200 stall. it helped the truck alot!
although it was short lived.... i ended up smoking the sprag in it. but since it was under warranty chris replaced it no questioned asked. but i got to thinking if im going to be down there again i might as well up grade right...?

So i decided to get the 4l80e. i picked it up for just over $600 with the tranny and new t-case with the shaft already installed. 103k 0n the tranny.

I ended up having to get a new stall for the 4l80 so i ended up going with a Circle-d 2b 3000 multi disk.

I figured i was done with the truck so i started looking at the cosmetic stuff. i was lucky and found these tail light/3rd break lights on ebay for $75



and i picked up a new sub box from my brother inlaw

about 6 months went buy and i figured " now" im finished with the truck..... right?



wrong! i ended up getting a new job and was able to pull out all my days off and what not and everything fell into place at the right time. i ended up getting a kbracing hot & cold pipe kit from a friend of a friend with upgraded waste gate and BOV for $1500 i knew it was a smoking deal so i jumped all over it

I started doing research and knew i had alot to learn fast. the new parts started slowly coming in.

it started with a new walbro fuel pump, comp rocker upgrade, brian tooley duel sping kit, gauge pillar and HIDs for my girsl truck " gotta keep her happy too " haha

the next thing to come in were my gauges....

NOW THE FUN BEGAN...........

i relocated my tranny cooler down low to make room for the inner cooler


once i got that done i begin to work on the springs and rockers




this baby also came in while i was finishing up the heads.

next i worked on the fuel, installing 80lb injectors and a racetronix hotwire kit

Im currently waiting on funds to get the truck complete. its been sitting in the drive way for about 3 months waiting on small parts here and there its all done now just waiting on money to come in so i can take it to tucson to get a new down pipe made and the exhaust done... i caint wait!
