10 Bolt broke. 14 Bolt Build.

My question is what year 14 bolt rear ends are direct swaps with a 08 sierra 10 bolt rear end? What year 10 bolt rear ends can i use?

It was the roughest gnarliest ride i have ever experienced and the sounds came with it! My rear end decided to implode on itself last night. I limped home going 25mph for 20 miles. It was clunking, boiling, jerking, shaking like the axle shaft is bent, and just sounded horrible. The speedo is bouncing back and fourth between 20 and 25 the whole way. I have oil leaking out the rear end, dents, and a tiny pinhole. The best way to describe the sound is an old fashion steam engine going down the tracks.

I guess the only thing I'm wondering is what the hell where you doing when it went?
drinking a beer and getting road head. no joke. it sure ruined it though. i was going down gravel and floored it and kaboom.

so does anyone actually have any info about axles? i've been searching but come up with nothing for nnbs. i just hit 40,000 miles last night too! i guess it lasted awhile cuz it had 33's at 800 miles till 10,000. then 35's to 33,000 and now 36's till 40,046. :bawl:

i was just reading a thread on this...now i can't find it, let me know harder...i wanna say but done quote me you would want a obs axle from a z71 truck and it will be a semi floater 14bolt 6 lug...but you will need to move the perches and diff yoke

whoop whoop. My axle is from a NBS. Its a 6 Lug 14 Bolt SF that orginally came with drums. I had it rebuilt with 4.88 Yukons, ARB Air Locker, and Master Install Kit. Im also in the process of trying to finish the Disk Swap so I can put it under me damn truck. The spacing is killing me though. I cant get the right bracket spacing and rotor depth...lol. Anyways as long as the axle is from a 4x4, there should be no issues. Just need the U Joint Conversion. But remember you will lose the Stabiltrak sensors that the NNBS axles come with. THANK GOD.
