ok, so im a little bit of a ******* and i watch nascar. those machines are incredible. but how in the hell do those cars make over 800hp on old technology (carberators) AND no forced induction (they use cowl induction)?

what compression and what is the octane rating?

I think the Octane is 110.

From ask.com

Saw it while watching Nascar..

i have 110 octane in my garage, i can get 115 if i want

i love the color codes

red=100
purple=110
blue=115

so 98 octane and 12:1 compression. still amazing they are getting 850hp

my guess is 115 octane, and prolly like 12.5:1 maybe higher
12.5 isnt high at all. I ran 11.6 CR with my old car and 93 octain. They used to run over 18:1 before they lowered it. There is so much technology in those old carb motors. Everything is perfected down to the last molecule of air and gas.
