I used to have a Hobart 180 but got rid of it because where I was working on my truck didnt have a 220 outlet. Im back in the same position again, and do not want to run a 220v line. With that said, is there a welder that runs off of a 110v line and will be sufficient to weld in a notch, shock tabs, bag brackets etc. I am not doing full frame shit, and will be doing just my own truck. Any help is great!!!!

shouldnt need to chamfer edges on anything less than 3/16th. i used that exactly welder when i was helping out a buddy. run the beads hot and turn the wire speed down, give the welding time to cool off because it will hit the duty cycle very easily at the higher heat range.

There is a guy in Arizona that makes a converter box that utilizes your household 110 outlets to convert to a 220 power source. I've had this for a while now and it works perfect, for a lot less than having someone install a 220 outlet. Search for quick220 for more info. Another option for you.

Thats doesnt sound possiable because you would need two hot legs to get 220.
110 only has one hot leg. You would have to find another outlet that is the other 110 leg then other outlet that is on the other 110 leg. And most houses that is going to be rare since there all daisy chained.

You get two 110 outlets from a 220 outlet but you cant great 220 from one single out let on the same hot leg.
