ive noticed that even the skinniest of low pros have the same amount of tread as the beafy 275/45s or 285/50s. i dont know what to tell ya, also i doubt u would clear bigger tires in the back, are u bagged?

What size wheels do you have? You can go with a 255/45, but its a little taller.

You need to get a tire with higher treadwear. Those are probably 280s, dont get anything less then 360 if you want them to last a long time.

You'll never fit 275/45 on those 8.5

I have 8.5 and tried to fit them and the fender wouldn't even come down over the tires.

I'm running 245/40 yokohama and haven't had any problem out of tire wear at all and went to a ton of shows last year....

I've never had good luck out of Falken tires so ya may just want to try a different brand 245/40

i am looking for a 40 series tire to run on my 20x8.5" Timeless 6's. I am going to run the same drop(djm 4/6") with rear shackles.

I agree that a 245/40 is too narrow for an 8.5" rim, unless u have bags and need the skinny tire to tuck. Some tire companies make 275/40/20 tire, but I haven't found a tire that I'd like to put on my truck in that size. Then there's a 295/40/20, but It would be really close to the fenders, and probably will rub without curled fenders on a 4/6.

As far as 35 series tires go, even a wider 35 series tire will be about an inch give or take smaller in diameter than the tires you have now.

as far as Falken's go, my buddies 245/40's wore about twice as fast as he expeceted them to as well.

Are they gone already cause they suck, or are they gone cause your spin tires alot? Just curious .. I should be getting my tires and wheels tuesday 20x8.5 on Hankook Ventus 245/40-20s .. I hope I will be happy with them.
