I have 01 gmc that i stock floored to the doors, and the bed isnt done yet. IM working on getting a few pics.. the floor is all rolled steel from fron to middle then middle to rear of the tail gate. I really dont want to cut into the sheet metal work thats already there.
i was thinging about cutting out the floor structure around the frame and just building square tubework but its hard as helling working under it all to get all the clearances and measurements
any other advise??

Other than youre doored and trying to use a bed that you dont want to cut up you dont have a whole lot of options. What wheel/tire combo your running? Im bodied to the rockers and tubbed for 30-32" size wheels cant remember and my rear tubs are higher than what you got going on in the back. You might want to rethink not cutting up the middle of your bed.

My tires almost touch the top of the bed rail. I'm bodied 5 1/4" and running a 275/30r24.

As far as raising the bed to clear the frame/suspension goes I would try to raise the whole floor level. Section it at the top and raise it then weld it back together. I think it would look goofy/half assed with a channel or tunnel cut through the bed for it to clear. Just my opinion though.
