Nice.:D Is it an lq4? If you don't mind me asking, where'd you get it and how much did it set you back for the complete swap?
It wasn't cheep, yes it's an LQ4 (based)

It doesn't matter what block you by, but the LQ9 is just not worth it you're going to rebuild it.

I bought a 6.0 (lq4) short block, with heads, valve covers, top front and rear covers for $600, a junk yard pull. There's no telling how many miles were on it.

I tore the whole thing apart, had it bored 20 over (4.020)
all new pistons (not forged), bearings, new 918 springs, retainers, and keepers
all new gaskets,
reused the stock valves, had a valve job done, new valve stem seals,
LS2 timing set (non-adjustable)
LS2 lifters - the $100 ones
Harland Sharp Roller rockers
Comp cam

the list goes on - all n all about $2,500 for a running "new" motor

Woah! Nice. Seeing that cluster makes me want to think it's my truck :D

thanks, it's just a regular ole Denali/Escalade cluster that I had re calibrated for my miles.

thanks, I put the long tubes on last night in 3hrs . . . . the next morning was the loudest 8-mile drive to the muff shop with open headers. . . . it vibrates EVERYTHING ! ! ! slounded like crap down low, but after 2,500 it's like a NASCAR truck . . . pretty bass!!!

lovin it yes ,. . . :crazy:

I put some Pacesetter long tubes on Thursday, took off the cats, and put on a Borla XR-1 sportsman muffler . . . . Now it's just plane LOUD. Easiest way to describe it, . . . . I nailed it going 70, and it down shifted into 2nd, and I passed my brother. He said it was like Dale Earnheart just passed me in a stock car. I'l make another vid.

Nice vid and dont get me wrong but did anyone else think the needle was going alil slow for a cammed 6.0? :think:

stock converter, 87 tune, stock rear, stock manifolds

I now have long tubes, catless, and a borla sportsman . . . I make another this weekend . . . if it stops raining.

stock manifolds, stock y-pipe with stock cats, open headers, . . . no mufflers. It's split at the y-pipe

oha I will, the headers are on, cats are off, and the Borla XR-1 is on . . . whole different sound

I'll try for this weekend
