So I pulled my seats and carpet out to do some RAAMmat sound deadening and I noticed the foam is completely disintegrating on the driver's seat. There was a pile of crumbling foam under the seat and if you push on the foam bits will just come off in your hand SO I need a new one (the seat has gotten more uncomfortable over the last few years and I guess I know why). I looked around some and OEM for an '02 Sierra was like $150??? Is that normal? or am I missing something?

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Jeeze, what I suspected but really hoped was not the case. That's rather galling ... Thanks! I'm glad at least all the covers are still mint.

*EDIT* I found some cheaper more around $100 but I can't figure out what the correct part number is since the GMC and Chevy were actually different parts that year. Any help with the correct part number for an '02 GMC driver seat cushion would be sweet. I'm thinking its #12473281 but I'm not sure ...

A decent upholsterer could construct a foam cushion that could be made up totally to your liking. Harder on the edges, softer in the middle. Even progressive densities could be made. Initial softness with a firmer base. Or whatever combo that suits you.
Pretty typical project for custom Hot Rod seating.
If just the seat was brought to my shop, (No truck!) I'd do a job like that for the same price as a generic cushion.
