Well I recently made the switch from my 99 ram to a 2000 Silverado extended cab z71 step side and so far enjoying the decision to switch. I was wondering if there are any common issues I should be aware of and if there is anything that is recommended to do. This truck is all stock with 216000 miles.

The transmissions have been known to go out. It's hit or miss, as some guys go about abusing them and have high miles and are fine. The G80 locking raer ( that some have ) are not really built for abuse. Other than that, I dare say all other items are in line with most other 1/2 tons out there.

4x4, engine size, etc?

Good way to start is fresh fluids and filters, doing spark plugs/wires, fuel filter, clean your throttle body, flush the trans and replace filter and should be good to go. I have a 2000 stepside like yours. I've had it for 7 years best vehicle I've ever had.

Corvette servo you mean? It's a cheap easy mod that makes a pretty noticable difference.
