New to site need some help.

I bought a 94 Sliverado for about $400, with known transmission issues. The motor on the way home the motor started to sound like a air compressor. So I was wondering what tranmissions will fit. I found a few 4x4 trucks of about the same year, one was a 94 the other was a 95, however my truck is a 2wd. I wasn't sure if i could swap tail shafts or what. I am more famailer with Import Manual trans. I would love to convert this truck to a manual however I have a low budget.
