Guys,

I have a new autometer Tranny temp gauge and a 2002 Sierra 1500 4x4 5.3 auto. Is there a wire I can tap to hook up trans temp gauge or can someone send me a pic of where to install the sender. Thanks I really appreciate it.

You'll have to use the sender that came with the gage. Otherwise the accuracy of the gage will be off. There should be two lines running from the transmission to either the radiator or an external cooler. AutoMeter makes a manifold that can be set in the line taking fluid from the tranny to the radiator (or cooler). The sending unit can then be installed in the manifold. That will probably be the easiest approach.

I always thought you could screw the sending unit into the test port on the transmission.

I put the sending unit in the test port when I put my gauge in. right above the linkage. its a pain to get a pic of. real easy install.
