NNBS Antenna Delete?

Has someone done this to an NNBS yet? My antenna bugs the shit out of me but i sometimes listen to sports radio so i cant just take it off. I was wondering if anyone had removed it from its base and maybe placed it running down the fender under the hood? Or how easy could doing that be?

on the nbs, people have run them down the length on the fender. why not a shortie antenna, maybe black powdercoated
I swear I remember someone who had an NNBS with a relocated one. All the searching I do brings up no results.

When I took mine off my reception didn't change(at least when I do use my radio, which is never). Take it off for one day and see how your reception works out.
i havent looked around an NNBS, but for my truck i just unbolted my antenna mount placed it horizonally and reattached the atenna, which i zip tied to the fender.

i havent noticed any drastic change in reception, and its completely hidden.
hopefully its easy. Ill look around tomorrow
I put a black shorty antenna on mine. Its small and still gets good reception
Sam...you want a shorty billet antenna?

I got one if you want it

There was a thread on this somewhere that I read too with pics and all....hmm. I will try and find it again and post up a link.
cut your antenna to desired length, then just sharpen the the end to a point and paint it black. poor man's shorty antenna :imo:

and thats what Jb did ..
ya I cut off about 15" to where its below the top of the cab, but I added a 1/8" plug on the end from the help section at autozone.
I used to have a short billet one, but theres a couple radio stations I like to listen to and couldnt get a decent signal so I modified the stocker

pics suck (garage) but you get the idea.

It would be nice if we could get that part number, if its only $9 for the Esky piece, it would be well worth it to cut it up to make a plug for the Silverado cowl. I hate my big ass antenna also, the shark fin on the roof sucks ass also.
I think I just found the p/n I just ordered it from gmpartsdirect.com, Im hoping its the right one. 25820730
soo how is the vacu-tit working out for u Jb ?
works fine

I still have a shorty billet in the garage, but I like this better
h0w c0me u never used it ? Was it reciepti0n issues ?

I don't understand why people at least color match them so they blend in a little bit better. I'm sure it's not that hard to get off and paint.

I had it on my truck for along time, I just wanted more black. There was one private owned radio station that I had a hard time getting but other than that I could get them all.

Anyone wants it I'll sell it for $20 shipped
