I have a 2007 nnbs that I am going to replace the inner tie rods in. Is there any how to out there on this procedure?

After searching I came up with plenty on nbs trucks but the nnbs has a steering rack that is a quite different setup.

Also, are there any special tie rod removal tools needed for the job?

Lots of videos on youtube. the procedure will be the same 07 NNBS-2013.

My work computer doesn't allow youtube, otherwise I would like one.

There are videos online, look for A1 Auto Parts, I watched some of theirs when I did a complete maintenance overhaul a few months ago.

My truck has rack and pinion so the inner tie rod ends were a PITA. Make sure you have replacement clamps for the inner boots - I didn't, and ended up going to the parts store TWICE. I ended up using screw-type hose clamps like you see on garden hoses, I couldn't get anthing else to tighten up.

As far as removing and installing the ends, the OEM pieces are garbage with only two flats to get a wrench on (the Moog replacements have four flats). I had to have my brother move the steering wheel back and forth until I could get my 24" adjustable wrench to fit, then it was a snap. Remove them, clean the threads, loctite the new items and install.

If you have rack and pinion, make sure you're real careful with the breather tube that runs from boot to boot. It was a white, semi-rigid tube on my truck. Don't break it!
