I have a 2wd 08 CC that I use to tow a 3 ATV trailer. I would like to be able to get a little further off road(no climbing). I called 4wheel parts and they recommended auburn lsd. W/ install $800! What about something from powertrax? Help...

Tru Trac will be okay for a daily driver? Will install costs be anymore than Aub. LSD? Does $300 for labor seem right?

Correct app.:
Part Number: DET913A481
GM 8.5in.10 Bolt TrueTrac
For Use In Rear Applications Only
For Use With 30 Spline Axles
Will Fit 8.6in Axles

I'd go with auburn posi. too many lockers break if you lose traction, especially if it gets cold where you live. Here, you end up spinning your rear tires, it locks up, kaboom. out goes your g80.

The TrueTrac has been very popular recently, we have sold a ton of them to members on here. The Auburn and Eaton clutch pack units are also very nice, a bit less aggressive but do require maintenance. If you want a price on any of them let me know. Just for a locker instal, $300 is high. We would charge $160 (2 hours of labor). $300 is more like a complete regear.
