It's been a while since I logged on let alone messed with the heavy Chevy.
Initial plans for the truck were to build an oldschool looking wheeling rig, and eventually straight axle etc...

Well like everyone knows plans change, and now I pretty much use my HD as a daily driver and I pull a toyhauler filled with my new wheeling rig (RZR 1000), never been a fan of side by sides, but it's hard to beat for having fun with my 5 year old strapped into the car seat next to me, anyways back to the truck.

Last year I pulled the trigger on a set of Fred Goeske Adapter spacers to convert to 8x180 so i could run the newer style GM wheels, I always liked the factory wheel look wrapped in a mud tire, or swamper. I have had the 18" Denali's on it for a while but I finally found a set of the 20" LTZ wheels I have been wanting since I got the adapters, and because I use my truck mainly for a daily driver and pulling a toyhauler in the summer I went with a set of 305/55R20 BFG Mud Terrains.
But it's had a few pair of shoes since I got her off the lot back in 2010, here are a few pics of her along the way...

I miss getting her all muddy with the Hawgs and rollbar, but I am digging the factory 20's for now...

Love the truck and the new 20s.....

But, I agree. The 305s look small.... The 35s looked ok IMO. But, I also understand your trying to accomplish a good combo for DD duty and towing, so....

Thanks dude, yeah I agree too on the 305's being a bit small, but for towing the Toyhauler up and down mountain passes they will do the job. But I am already looking at getting a set of Boggers on some 14 wides for the next pair, just gotta unload a few sets on Craigslist, my Appartment is starting to look like a tire shop, ha

Much appreciated dude, I am already looking into some Boggers or TSL's on white spokes in case we need to hit a power line or two this summer.

i'd look into the 295/65/20 trail graps for that bad boy. with a load index of 129 they would be perfect for towing and fill up the wheel wells a bit more. its pretty much identical to a 35x1250r20 except the 35's have a 123 load index which really can't hold up to as much weight and wear and tear a 2500 towing can do. I've seen countless 2500 trucks with the standard sized 35 1250 20's blowing out on them due to the improper load index. just something to keep in mind.

I appreciate that, yeah thats another reason I went with the BFG's, about the only wide/low mud tire that had a decent load rating that I liked the look of.
There are a few sketchy camp grounds that have non paved 4x4 only trails into them that I would not have made it in had it been wet, this year we can go to the same spot without worry of rain keeping us out, or if the soft spots are a little softer next year...

Haha, I know I know... If it wasnt for reponsibil... Ahh hell this site is gonna break me, I just put all my other tires and wheels on craigslist so I can afford to get some white spokes and Swampers for the occasional powerline mud romp...

I miss it already...

maybe I will go with some 35x16x16.5 Boggers on 16.5x14 wide white steel's for when the camper isn't attached :hmm:

Thanks man.

Maybe if it was a club cab shortbox, but I like height cuz it's so damn long.
