Im wanting to lift my 88 2wd. Ive never really seen any kits for 2wd OBS trucks. How high can I go with a bolt on kit, suspension that is? Id like to run 36s at least. I could do a 3" body lift too.

4 inch spindles roughcountry.com-about 450

2 inch coils-150 on ebay

3 inch body-150 anywhere

You need to trim for 36s

I plan on running 4 inch spindles with true 33s and Ill prolly have to trim

Stay away from Coil/Upper Control arm kits. They will tear up your front end. Trust me I know.

Fabtech makes a 7" Sub-Frame kit for your truck for $1200 from 4WP. With that kit, you should be able to clear 36s with some trimming.

yeah man it isn't possible becuase it's 1" above the legal limit:rolleyes:

I think 4" is too much just because it looks bad but that's me.
The gap will be covered with a strip of rubber so it wont look that bad.

ah well, good luck finding one at any rate. nobody sells one over 3".
Parts like this will be made by me at work.

4 inch will look horrendous unless you run like a 14 inch suspension lift already

A rubber strip will look stupid covering 4 inches of frame hanging down

Do a 3 inch body 4 inch spindles and coil spacers

You will keep factory ride and be able to run 36s with minor trimming

and since you have an 88 with smaller rotors youll need the rc kit made for your year

Oh, and that fabtech kit is just 4" spindles and 3" springs.
Yes, and the subframe kit is your other choice. I have personally worked on a 95 2wd with the subframe kit on it, and to be honest, it was solid and well designed. With a body lift on top of that, you would look good on 38's.
