Has anyone ever rebuilt a steering box on an obs? Junkyards and parts stores want way too much to not consider rebuilding the one I have. I was just wondering if its something I can do one evening on the workbench with just hand tools or not. :hmm:
I would not try it. I've had alot of freinds try it on older chevys and jeeps but it always leaks. I just replaced mine 2 months ago, I picked it up at O'reillys for around $150 with exchange. got home and 1.5 hours later it was changed. the only problem I had was I did not have a socket that would fit the pitman arm nut so I ghetto one up. I took my biggest pair of vicegrips and ziptie them clamped shut so they would not pop off when hit with the BFH.
