Oil Cooler Lines

1422 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Covah
My brother's 1995 GMC half ton has a leak from one of oil cooler lines going to the rad. Does anyone know of a good fix for this, he has had them replaced a couple of times, with original gm parts and they don't last long before they start leaking again. Any suggetions for a fix that will last?

Thanks
Jason

replace them again however this time line them with some rubber hose this will protect them from the elements.
The leak may be caused from the elements?
I thought it was a design problem from GM? It leaks where the rubber hose meets the aluminum.

Common problem in the 90'2 with those lines. The connection goes bad, and the GM replacemnets do the same thing. Some actually available on ebay, usually. I have known of some people foregoing the connector and just hose clamping it on. Less likely to fail.
Have custom lines built by a local hydraulic shop
