My oil gauge has been on the fritz lately. I need to know where the sending unit is or where ever the sensor is that sends the reading to the gauge. '92 1500 5.7L 350 automatic trans.

Or maybe you can diagnose:
On start up it reads normal. Upon acceleration, the needle starts bouncing around and finally pegs out (maximally), then once I let off the gas a bit it jitters and then back to normal. It'll do this through each shift. I've noticed though that once the engine gets warmed up quite a bit, it stops doing it.

ANY IDEAS?

Thanks

The sender is on the back side of the motor behind the intake manifold. It is fairly centered, but more towards the driver side. Be careful, there is a 90 degree elbow that is brass and easy to break. When you install a new one besure to use teflon tape to seal the threads.
