my tahoe has 100500 miles on it and i use mobil 1 5W30 synthetic oil but today while doing my oil change i noticed that on the oil it says new vehicle formula. now should i use a different oil since my truck has so many miles on it or should it be fine??

I wouldn't worry about it. I run plain old pennzoil in mine with 163,000, my dads with around 300,000 and no problems. I think high mileage oil is more of a marketing scheme than anything. It might do you some good if you have a small leak or something, but thats about it IMO.

it is. max life, high mileage, etc. are just marketing tools. i used "new vehicle formula" for 90,000 miles on my last truck, no problems.

Can we say "Marketing scheme" class?? Just put oil in and drive. I am sure there are some additives to the other "High mileage" oils, but will you get anything?? Just like quaker state has that "4x4" truck oil, how is that better for a 4x4 than something else?
