Should be picking up my "new to me" 2005 Chevy Z71 4x4, 1500 LT, ext. cab tomorrow and I'm looking to put a mild lift under it..Thinking about 3"-4" max and switching the stock wheels up for something like a 17"x8" and a tire in the 33" to 35" range...Which ever will go under it and not rub any.
Truck will be a daily driver, no hardcore wheeling or anything like that..Most offroading it will see will be field edges and stuff like that during hunting season..Nothing to rough.
So I want to stay as cheap as possible on it so I'm thinking just blocks in the back but what all do I need in the front??? Keys? If so what kind and where's a good place to get them? Anything else I need other than keys for the front???? Do I need an aftermarket brand key or the ford keys I've heard guys talk about? I dont mind if the ride is a little stiff, I dont want it to beat the hell out of me but a little stiff I can live with. I just want to be able to keep the front end aligned so I'm not eating tires all the time, and I want it to be reliable so it's not tearing CV's and shit up all the time. So show me the way of guru's of the GM lift kits.

If you only want a 3" to 4" lift only. I say to get a 3" body lift for about 400. As far as front, I have 97 to 03 Ford F-150 Adjusting torsion bar keys to level the truck but don't crank them too much or you will start to have issues with ball joints. You will also have to get different shocks up front if you crank, the factory ones will be too short.. 33 and even 35 will fit with no rubbing on a 3" lift and torsion bar cranked. I ran a 35 tire on my stock 03 Z71 and barely rubbed on the back of the fender.
