Based on responses to my previous post, it looks like I may want to change directions and drop the front via spindles vs LCA's.

What are the real world differences in these methods?

1. Do I need special shocks? I have a new set of Toxic shocks but they were intended to be used with new DJM LCA's.

2. Is there a difference in ride quality between the two? My understanding was that changing LCA's to achieve drop has the least negative impact on ride quality.

3. Anything else I should consider?

Thanks guys.

The front shock application is most likely to change, so you will probably need to exchange those. I would have gone with some Doestch Tech shocks, since I haven't heard many good things about Toxics. You can go with spindles which Mcgaughy's might have. You also have the option of going with torsion keys by belltech. Very easy to install.
Hope this helps.
McGaughy does have the appropriate spindles, at least according to their web site.

I haven't researched the torsion keys yet but will I get 2" of drop just with that? and what will it do to ride quality?

yea, I just got done reading the post like 15 seconds ago. Kinda weird to use torsion bars on a 2wd. You can use new torsion keys, or de crank the curent ones.
Well, I just got off the phone with StylinConcepts, great folks there. They are checking with Beltech to see if they have torsion keys that will work and they will call me back.

Anyone know how difficult it is to change the keys?

If they don't make them or I decide I don't want to go that route, they will take it all back and I will probably go with a kit from McGaughy that uses spindles.

StylinConcepts just povided me with a No Charge return auth. I can't speak highly enough about those guys ..... very patient and helpful.

I placed a new order direct with McGaughy for their deluxe 2/4 drop. I'll get this damn project done or die! BTW, they tell me there's no need to change shocks with their kit unless I want to. I will stick with the OEM's for now since they're brand new and see if I need something different down the road.

This all just set me back a week so that's not too bad.
