suggestion:

when taking the front end apart, position jack underneath lower control arm. put pressure on suspension to slightly compress spring. loosen (read: do not fully remove) castle nuts holding ball joints together. whack ball joints with BFH, they will pop loose (you can also use a pickle fork). after the ball joints are broken loose, slowly and carefully release the tension on the spring. having a chain or something holding the spring might be useful to keep it from popping out.

1/2" step drill bit
knew i needed more than just a drill bit.

:word:

don't cheap out or you'll be going back for more :read:

yea i went shopping at harbor freight yesterday...this is one thing i didnt get.

when notching the frame be especially careful on the drivers side, theres brakelines on the inside of the frame that are very easy to over look and get cut

Get an actual electric drill with a plug, that battery shit will get tired real fast drilling 1/2 inch holes.
yes get one of these cause a battery power drill wont last too long

Not trying to thread jack, but I thought this would be better than starting a whole new thread about the same thing. Got a 3/5 to put on the other day for my 85 C-10 and when I get a chance I'm gonna' start dropping it. We're doing it with the bed off to make it easier in the back, but other than two jack stands on either side what should I watch for to keep the frame from getting tweaked?
