ok i bought some 22x8 inch wheels. when i bought them the guy gave me some old pirelli 305/40/22s. i was going to temporarily put them on the wheels until i get enought money to get a new set. well i went to pepboys to have them mounted. and i look outside and both the desk guys and 3 other techs are crowed around my truck lookin at the rims. so i go out there and see what the hell was going on. some guy goes "you know those wheels arent gonna fit with those tires....especially with the truck lowered like that"
and im like "no, its stock height" then i hear "well whoever owned it before had it lowered"
i was getting kinda irratated because first of all, the guy i bought them from had 22s with those same tires on his 04 silverado (which is identical to mine...only red and not black). and secondly, my truck is NOT lowered. i bought it brand new in 03. and i doubt magical little elves came and lowered my truck during the wee hours of the night. "ill know for sure once i look at the suspension" so he gets down and looks and says nothing. afterwards he takes me inside to sell me another set. of course by this time i was not in the mood to spend 1000 bucks. "these are 265s and wont rub when you turn." i declined...then went home
so with that in mind, im all confused and fustrated...i just want to put them on the truck...ya know?
so is 305/40 too large for my truck to have rubbing issues blah blah blah?
and again it has NOT been lowerd. and if it isnt too big what is? thanks guys
