These two are the only brandnames I have heard of that make the 3" body lift. I have a friend who can get me a great deal on a complete trailmaster kit. I have heard to go with Performance accessories kits, but i have a tight budget. I wanted to see if anyone has any info on the exact differences between the two. I definitely want quality, and something that will hold up.

performance accessories is known for being a "complete" kit. Most of their kits have the radiator drop down brackets, fuel line extensions, steering extensions, bumper brackets, and they have decent instructions.

i don't know much about trailmaster body lifts, except that they make them. 4 years ago, i drove a 92 toyota pu with the 4" trailmaster suspension, and a trailmaster 3" body lift. The truck rode like crap and the radiator was not dropped down at all.

Ask your friend what exactly comes with the trailmaster body lift. Then compare it to the PA. Look at the installation instructions and compare them. If the trailmaster kit looks like a quality kit, and it matches the PA kit, i don't see why the trailmaster would be a bad choice, especially to save $$

Might i ask why you want a 3" bl?

klemmentine- I appreciate your help. The guy that sells these trailmaster kit said it is a "complete kit", but I believe he meant it came with bumper brackets and gap guards. The radiator drop seems like a big issue and I'll be sure to ask about that. If anyone else wants to chime in feel free.

I wasn't trying to sound like an ass. Im just not a fan of bodylifts. Theyre kinda the cheap way out. If you plan on biger tires then ok but i wouldnt do it because you have to extend so much stuff that wasnt meant to be extended. Its just not my preference and is frowned at by those who 'wheel hard....

With that said, Performance Accesories is the name that comes to mind when i think of body lifts. There kit isnt lacking. Its only $100 +/-...

Im not frowning on them and correct me if Im wrong, but I wheel pretty hard

They dont hurt your wheeling in ANY way - they are a cheap 3" of extra fender clearence if you dont mind the height.

90% of the people running body lifts wont encounter the problems they can cause off-road. they are just fine if used in mud and sand but are a bad idea on a rock crawler. But then again, i doubt he'll be 'crawling that truck. lol

BL's are a great way to get some bigger meats on your truck without blowing your budget. I never have heard of them being frowned on by ppl who wheel and doubt they cause any problem 4wheeling.

All I know is I dont have the kind of money to spend on a suspension lift. All I want is to fit the 315's.

3" body lift- $200
4" suspension- $1200?
:nono:

I can make it look damn near a suspension other than the frame staying down, but even that isn't that bad.

Rough Country has body lifts cheaper than most places have PA (at least for NBS, probably for OBS too). They dont actually make the kits, they just buy PA kits in bulk (so they get them really cheap), and repackage them in Rough Country boxes. Hell, even on their website, their "tech notes" are identical, just copied and pasted, from the PA website. Check them out. www.roughcountry.com

*Edit* Their website is acting weird, the link buttons arent working. Just give them a call.
