I hooked up my Pioneer Premier into my 01 Yukon and sometimes I get music and sometimes I don't. It's like the amp on the unit doesn't come on, it's brand new. I had an older Pioneer deck that did this exact same thing, so I'm leaning to the issue being the factory wiring harness. I just wanted to see if anyone else has ran into this or possibly some help. Much appreciated on this.

sounds like a speaker is shorting and the radio is shutting off the internal amp, I see it all the time. You need to see which one is either shorting to ground or shorting itself

What he said ^^

Disconnect each speaker wire until it quits doing it, or put a volt meter on the speaker wires and check the impedance of each.
