Please help!!!!!!ses light

ok I have an ses light on with the code p0449 evaporative purge valve solenoid malfuntion. was told the replace the solenoid. I did that today and cleared the code with my scan too. Light went out but when I started it again about an hour later the light was off when I first started it but about 30 seconds later It came back on with the same code. my question is, is there something else wrong or do I have to drive it for a while for it to register before the light will stay off...

thanks but i've already tried those when I searched. but I took the vent valve off and took it apart and cleaned it. tested it and it didn't work couldn't jump it like you ussually can. so I ordered the relocation kit from gmpartsdirect.com. in the mean time I put it all back together so it wouldn't be all exposed while I waited for the part to be shipped. two days later now the lights off and hasn't come back on since. should I just change it anyway or try selling it (special order part and can't return it)?
