So friday I yanked the headliner and went as far as doubling up on some areas of the roof. I found a leak so I decided to pull the carpet and finish off my Dynamat. Now sunday I pulled the carpet, found and fixed the leak, and used another 32 sq ft or so of 'mat. Used maybe 28-32 on the roof. Add this to the 12 or so on the back wall, maybe another 30+ on the doors, you can see how quickly 100sq ft will get used! I also cut out the old bolts for the jack and shit like that Im no longer using. I also went and pressure washed the carpet while it was out.

This is what I started with
100_0818.jpg

Temp boxes of course, going to work on the perm. ones soon. Also trying to think about an amp rack of some sort

Replacing the top and bottom with the middle. Tops 4, bottoms 8, middles 1/0!

Thanks GM for thinking about us!

ok, now to the ????S
Thats a 400.4, a 400.2, and a BD1000.1
I have 3 pairs of the Rockford P162S components to spread around
2 pairs of the P162C coaxials, one set is going in the wifes car

I want to have the 400.2 running just the front door 6 1/2s
I want to have the front of the 400.4 running just the tweeters and the rear on whatever rears I do
Problem is, the Rockford amps will only do up to 500 hertz high and low pass. I want the doors to be look sweet, have lots of midbass, and be loud.

Option 1: Run the 6 1/2s low pass at around 400 and down, let the radio do high pass from 80 and up, so bandpass 8-400. Use the Rockford's passive crossovers and buy some 3 1/2s or 4s and run them from that 400 and up on the 400.4 with the Rockford tweeters, essentially like a P142S set with 6 1/2s for midbass

Option 2: Run the components as they come out the box with the passive crossovers. 2 6 1/2s per door. 2 tweeters per pillar.

Option 3: Buy an external crossover like an Audiocontrol piece and have the 6 1/2s go on the 400.2 from around 80-2500 and then have the tweeters go from 2500 and up on the 400.4's front channels and rears be rears.

Im thinking #2, but then I have left over channels

GM rocks for that "channel" in the door sills. You can run so much shit through there. lol

I used 1/0 in my truck and you would never know its there. My sister has 4 gauge running back to her trunk of her CTS and I tried my hardest to hide it. I can still notice it though. haha.

I put some foam up there after realizing how much roof flex I have. Laid down some plastic to keep the newly hosed out interior clean

straight down the middle as a center console, replacing the jump seat and taking up most of the underseat area for air
I had a pic of them lined up as I want them, but hit delete on the camera somehow

Im going to "notch the middle of the box some to allow for the stock center console top to go back in. Fiberglassing the bottom of the box, maybe some plexi siding with lights, dont know yet. Its going to be a "T" to get the right airspace with boxes under the back seat to the left and right to get the airspace right. Im shooting for about 3.8 so I might just make one side a storage spot, and the other the box.

Holy shit. I need to do something like this. I have my amp on the floor behind the passenger seat and everybody steps on it when they get in the back seat.

Us old guys need systems too.:ninja:

trying to decide between:
a. cutting the original headrest (which Ive never done to any vehicle)
b. Re wrapping these in some factory velour (if I can get some, also which Ive never done)
c. doing the 9" in a custom fiberglass getup in the back of the console
