as the title says should i on my 01 5.3 i'm leaving the muffler but will i get any problems if i punch out the cats

Rear 02's will throw codes...not really worth doing that unless they are clogged anyhow...newer cats don't choke anything back...

there is no point all you will get is a louder sound the cats may only take off about 1-1.5 HP at the most just leave them on and dont mess with them

what about on a 95

and how would you do it
just throw on the newer cats and leave it alone

Won't gain much, just sound and some slight top end power.

i'm not looking to gain any hp just want my truck louder i got a 3" pro-dump on it i have tryed straight,flows,ect so i was going to blow out the cats and leave the muffler to get that deeper louder sound
