quick q on extending power wire

so i searched and couldnt find anything. what is the best way to extend my power wire, 2 gauge and my ground. i finally got around to making my amp rack for behind my seat and the ground and power for my amp running my subs wont reach now obviously. Is it safe to solder that or is there some other way? i just wanta avoid replacing the whole length of wire.
