my brother in law has a 2000 5.3 4l60e and his trans is starting to give out.... need to know what years will be a DIRECT swap.... mainly worried bout electoronics, i know any 99-06 will bolt up... thanks fellas!

Skipper,

As long as the original tranny was a 4L60 and your installing another then it will be a direct swap. Only time you would run into electrical issues is when you jump to a 4l80 or a G and you've done some work such a vette servos and all that stuff (when i say electrical im referring to ECM work- changing shift points, checking sensors, yada yada).

Just bolt the thing up and plug everything in. I've already done it once to my tahoe- no problems.

lol... i figured i answered my own question... just wasnt sure if there was any differences in speed sensors and other things like that... preciate it guys, tryin to locate him one now...

You'd probably be happier getting a good shop to rebuild yours. They can beef it up, and you'll know what you have. Buy a used tranny, get a used tranny.
