You get what you pay for IMO. I love my Bel STI Driver. Got an amazing deal on it though.

I love the Passport 8500 that came with my truck. Haven't had a problem with it yet! However, it does retail for $280-$300.

Let me tell you last weekend I went to Dallas from little rock and my valantine one saved my a$$ so many times. They were hiding on on ramps and behind bridges and the V1 warned me everytime. I got mine on ebay used/new in the box from someone that got it and didnt want it. It was about 360$ but I am telling you worth every dime!

I like the V1 cause it points... I have had them come up from behind also and the little arrow warned me! I had a friend with me that said all radar detectors are a rip off. After driving around for a day said thats the only one he would buy. lol

I got a $40 cobra that works just fine. Had it for 3 different vehicles, about 8 years old.

Slowing down is a much cheaper alternative.
Don't be stupid, one mistake and you got yourself a $400 ticket that would have paid for a Radar.

One, who puts it on their dash? Two, you take it down, no big deal. Three, you can install it so it can not be seen, external speaker/mute button an a sensor in the grill then just put the radar in the glovebox.

I've seen them installed/hardwired but I've never it hardwired that deep. That would be cool though :imo
