My check engine light came on and now my factory remote start wont work. Has anyone had this issue and if so, how did it get fixed. I have an 08 GMC Sierra SLT.

Your remote start won't work if there is a CEL. You need to have the code read and cleared.

Correct. I had the P0449 evap code and my remote start wouldn't work. Once I fixed it and cleared the code, it worked.

Don't know. Its a common problem with GM trucks. The (evaps) are junk in my opinion. I had 1 go out on my 06 Silverado and 2 go out on my 08 Sierra. Both trucks had under 30k mi. and were babied.
