My wife's 02 Tahoe just began leaking from both front axle seals recently. I spent last Saturday replacing them. Today I noticed it's leaking again from the driver's side. The differential is in good shape, it was full of clean fluid and all of the shafts/splines are tight the seals were just worn. I figured if anything would have leaked it would be the passenger side extension housing where you have to use RTV. I also removed the vent housing to make sure it was cleaned out. What could be causing a brand new seal to leak? I'm going to replace it again tonight in case I damaged the seal or something but if it still leaks then what?
Update: apparently there's an improved vent cap which I was able to get at the stealership today. I noticed it has an o-ring where my old one does not. I'm going to try that, if doesn't work then do the ds seal again.
