1990 GMC suburban k1500 TBI 5.7L. - Parked truck one night and then wouldn't start next morning. Traced the issue to no fuel. Replaced the fuel fitler and fuel pump. Truck starts now, but idle is really, really high like the engine is going to blow up. Before we just start replacing parts. Thought we would ask for ideas. Thank you in advance for trying to help.

Check/clean your idle air control solenoid on the passenger side of the throttle body. They were bad about sticking.

Thank you for helping. Replaced the IAC and throttle idle sensor. High idle was still there. Then we disconnected the throttle cable and turned it a few times. Reconnected the cable and started the truck. Very high idle was gone and truck runs better then it every has since we owned it. Even shifts better.
