Ok, I am replacing my CVs and seem to have a problem.
I read as many threads as I could on it and I think I have the process down.

So I have removed wheel, removed 36mm nut, removed the bolt for the lower shock mount, and removed all the bolts holding the CV to the axle output shaft.
Now here comes the problem, how the heck do you manage to get the CV out once its all unbolted. I can compress it some but there is no way to clear the end all the way though the spindle.
I can also move the end off the axle but I cant drop it low enough to get it out.

There must be something Im missing or Im doing something wrong. Truck is a 1995 K1500 Z71, 5.7, RCSB, no modifications whatsover.

Im sure someone has done this, so if anybody knows of any tricks or anything please let me know!! Thanks.

Figured it out. All I needed to do was remove the sway bar end link and it came out perfect.

Do chevy's need a special tool to replace the CV shaft or do new ones come with mounting flange to the Diff? My buddy's Dodge needs special tool to replace his. I know I took mine out for the lift, just wondering if the Flange gets replaced too.

No special tools for the GMs. The Dodge CAN be done without the tool, but its a mother fucker and a half.

The subaru or the truck? lol.
Im just doing some maintenance stuff on it for now.

I have a taillight that doesnt work (need to trace wiring), a tailight on the top of the cab that flashes with the left blinker, a temp gauge that doesnt work, and a whine from what seems to be from the rear end. Once I get that sorted out then maybe a TB crank and an exhaust.

I just did both CVs and got off a stuck oil filter after 3 hrs (fuck Fram junk).
