I did a google search for sir michael roll pans a few days ago and stumbled upon an s10 site. I read that some of the guys over there preferred stock bumpers on a daily that way if for some reason they get rear ended the bumper will be hit first (most of the time). After reading that I saw two trks with roll pans that had dents, a FSC with a 3/5 drop on 22's and he/she had a dent in the tail gate. I also saw another trk with a roll pan that also had a dent in the tailgate. After reading that and seeing both of those trks I'm not so sure I want to get a roll pan. Not to mention I would have to get a new hitch and relocate my spare.

ive had both. First I had a SM w/ plate box molded in, then a few months back I cut it out for a smooth CC. I've been really happy with both. The only thing I really like more abou the CC is that it comes already in primer. Not a big deal if youre getting it painted as soon as it gets put on though.

i've got a CC with the fabbed plate box in the middle. with the CC, you can get the plate box fabbed on either side, or the middle. i've actually had mine on my truck for a few months now with no paint. its doing pretty good. a little surface rust in the corners under the tailgate, but that should knock right off when i get it painted.

For the price that you can get a CustomClassic roll pan, get one. I love mine and can't justify spending $200+ bucks on a Sir Mikes after having a CC

I just got my CC pan in yesterday. It looks pretty good and seems sturdy. I'm gonna weld it in and for the price I payed I really can't complain. Just couldn't see paying 200+shipping for a Sir Mike's pan...

i dunno if you guys noticed, but in the first post; "Price doesnt matter."
I didn't notice that but i would rather spend $70 and be able to maybe have enought left over to do another mod or 2 (depending on the size of the insurance check) than just do a roll pan.

just for the record i just had an fbi rollpan painted and put on the pan itself needed a lot of work to be ready for paint in order to avoid rust there was a lot of raw ended steel there is no cutout for the spare tire drop rod and the body/paint guy said it was a pain in the ass to get it "straight" not really sure what he ment also the lower edge of the pan doesnt line up with the lower bedsides bacuase if they lined it up the tailgate would hit when it opens! just my 2 cents i would stay away from fbi even for the price. prior experience with sir mikes was that it rusted out within a year on my old ranger! i can probably chock this up to poor paint prep but even still left a bad taste in my mouth. i will post pics of my truck soon!

Any metal will rust if not prepped correctly. Sounds like some one did a $hitty job on your pan
