What is your budget here? If you do all the work on everything above your already at over $1600. What is your main goals you are trying to accomplish and does decrease in gas mileage matter?
If you looking for Monster power out of that 4.8 you might want to look into turbo kits. Seen tons of people that go rounds with how a 4.8 is better to turbo then a 6.0 for the fact that the stroke ratio on them is better.
At the end of the day it is a 4.8 and as you can make more power out of it you might be happy doing the supporting mods like headers/ OFY / Tune / Gears.
If you look into a 6.0 get ready to change out to a 14 bolt rear end and a 4l80E as 1500 drive train is JUNK when adding power.
