I have a 3/4 ton 4x4 ECLB with a 6.0L and was wondering what would be the best way to acheive a 14.5-15 second 1/4 mile with my truck with out having to replace the bottom half of the engine

personaly, i think nitrous is a pussy way of making HP; if you have it or whatever im not trying to dog you, to each is his own but i mean, when i wanna go fast i dont wanna have to push a friggin button i just wanna mash down the gas pedal. i dont know what it is about nitrous, ive never used it and never want to.

Swap in a 12 valve 2nd gen cummins and bomb the hell out of it for cheap, none of those thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of bolt on stuff :D

12 valve cummins is def the way to go if u want major power for cheap...its amazing what those will do...all w/o any computers to control them too.

First off, you have the 6.0, factory true duals, 4.10:1 gears, and a 4L80E. You've got a pretty stout drive line and big chamber Z06 heads. That being said, don't be scared to put some power out.

If I was on a budget, I'd start with this stuff...

Custom Tune (Nelson, Westers, locally)
LT headers (TOG, Thorley, ASM, etc)
Cold Air Intake (K&N, Voliant, etc)
Cat Back Exhaust (Dynomax, Magnaflow, etc)
Ported TB (Shaner, youself, etc.)

That will really wake that vehicle up. After that do this...

TransGo shift kit (keeps the ol' 80E together) and get a fat cooler (B&M)
Electric Fans (cheap HP and economy)
Mild stall converter if you tow (2600-3000rpm, Precision Industries, Yank, etc)
Cam (212-218 intake dur, 220-226 exhaust dur; .520-.540 lift; 114LSA)

If you still ain't fast enough...

Bigger Cam (218-224 intake, 226-230 exhaust; .550-.570 lift, 114LSA)
Heads (Ported some, polished, maybe a 2.02" intake valve, get the milled)
