I hope it's nothing, but curious to ask. My 14 silverado has 8900 miles on it. Over the weekend I took a 250 mile round trip. When I was cruising at 73 (1800 rpm), yet it would downshift to around 2300 rpm on a little hill. Usually once the road flattens, it will shaft back. On this trip, it wouldn't shift back for maybe a mile, even on flat ground. Once it downshifted, the only way to get it to shift back to cruising at 1800 rpm was to either kill the cruise control or wait til it went downhill. It's never done this. There was a 20 mph head wind and hoping that was the culprit?

Doesn't sound unusual to me. I've had wind kick mine down while cruise control's on. And I don't have the 6 speed, which seem to gear hunt

My wheels/tires weigh 96# versus the 66# stocks I removed. I guess maybe it was just the wind, hopefully. Would the airaid MIT help any?
