so got into the ladies truck the other day and everytime i hit a bump i heard a scrape of some kind.soo i took a look and realized that the stock shock mount snapped in half and also the front mount to the dual shock hoop was also snapped.so all that was holding on the shocks was the rear part of the hoop and the bottom bolt.



heres the stock mount that was split

and the front part of the hoop which is supposed to be over that bolt

the hoop all welded up and painted

and the other piece welded back on
front side

inside the engine bay

and it all painted up and finished

now if it decides to break again then im going to have to build a custom shock tower off the frame instead of the stock shock tower.so hopefully this one will work.thanks for looking

nope.we have yet to test it offroad.the po used to take it to glamis but he was an older guy and a friend of a friend so we know it wasnt ever abused or jumped.but it never did this and then we went on vacation and left it parked at her moms house.then wen we got back and went to drive home it made a scraping noise.so honestly i dk how it happened at all but it wasnt the most fun thing to fix

haha.thanks.she doesnt like it much cuz the paint isnt perrfect.so she's saving up to paint it black

hahahahah.it is pretty nice.on the driver side the two doors are a little dull and on the pass side the main door is dull.other than that its fine

i tried claying and buffing it.it brought it back a little but not much.it looks like the po buffed it a little too much and now there is no paint or clear coat left.lol

Sounds like her mom went out and did a little Baja racing while you were gone, then had it all cleaned up by the time you got back, so she was like: :driver::evil::secret::shrug:

hahaha.i wish that was the deal cuz i dont get it at all.her moms the one that paid for my laughlin trip so the truck was parked the whole time
