Silverado wont start, only makes ticking sounds

Went to start my truck up today and I turn the key and i hear tick tick tick tick tick, jumped the truck and it started, but its been turning over slow for the past couple days.

I tested the battery at autozone and they said it was fine, what do you guys think? I was thinking alternator but the battery would die as soon as i took the cables off right?

thats what initially i thought too, but doesnt make sense that it started after I jumped it. Unless I just got a *lucky* start?
well soon your luck will run out. check all your connections and make sure there tight. I just went thru changing a starter on my womens saturn.
All cables should be checked for being loose or corroded.
I think I found the problem, the aftermarket foglight wires ends were all melted, so i disconnected those.

But I did start the truck and it would turn over and run for like 5 seconds and die, then i cranked it again and same thing, it finally ran fine after the third try and everything seems normal, but why is it taking a couple tries for the truck to start and run?
i still say starter
first of all check your connections..make sure there real tight and clean...then you might wanna check ur ur batt, then starter
Battery or connections are dirty. Starter wont make a sound if its bad. A loos connection will cause clicking. And turning over slow is a bad battery bud. own up and get a new one.
with the truck being a 2000, it is probably time for a new batt for the 2nd time. first one prob didn't make it past 03, rt? now this is another 3-4 years after that.

:werd: And running anything aftermarket that is melting shit, doesn't help the electrical system, either.
not sure what # battery its on, but i replaced it last winter with a AC Delco replacement battery.
is it one of those sealed Delco batteries?

that would explain it...delco batts are shit. pure and simple.

one of our 06 colorados had it die after 3-4 months. truck didn't have 4,000 miles on it and it was shot.

Sure...it can happen to any battery, but the delco ones suck more than others. It seems liek half the battery pallets at work with core batts are delcos.
Battery.
