I am wanting to replace my stock muffler with a magnaflow muffler
(12590 or 12579 to be exact). I don't know whether or not to get a single or dual out. I want to dump the exhaust over the axle. I used to own a 94 Ext Cab with a dual out 40 series and no cat and that was pretty darn loud in the cab.

For my new truck I am wanting to have A LOT less noise in the cab and an exhaust that is not as loud. I want to keep the exhaust mild. I have searched the forums a bunch and haven't seen much talk about the difference/opinions between the single and dual outs.

One more question, would there be a big sound difference between dumping at the muffler and past the axle?

Dumping it anywhere under the truck is going to make it drone or louder inside than dumping out the side or back. If your just plan on dumping it anyways, get the single in/ out. No point in having a dual out if youre not going to have tips.
