Today on my way to work I made a typical left turn in city traffic and heard a terrible noise from the front of the truck. I straightened the truck out to realize the steering wheel is at a near 90 degree angle to the left when going straight. I think the rag joint (or whatever people call it) slipped a few notches on the threaded shaft leading into the steering gear box. I can easily take the rag joint off and straighten the wheel but Im scared shitless it will slip again and I could wreck. Do I need a new rag joint or is there a way to keep it from slipping again? I know the bolt that pinches the joint together is tight, thats why I'm worried. Please help. Thank you :)
