Hey guys,

Just noticed a small drop of some type of oil. Hard to tell what type of oil, I did smell it, can't quite tell what it is. I recently flushed my power steering fluid, I don't see any of those hoses leaking??? I followed it up and it looks like a small hose that goes into the driver's side of the xfer case. What is this? A breather hose? I didn't have time to follow it.

It appears it just goes onto a nipple without a hose clamp. I could easily put a hose clamp on it.

I'll try and get a pic later.

2004 Silverado 1500 5.3 z71 4x4.

Sorry for the rando thread....

Thanks!

Yes, that is the vent hose for the front. The rear diff also has one. As far as the leak, did you trace it and located where the fluid is coming from? Did you smell the fluid? Can you make a determination?

Tough to say! I drove it the other day and checked after I parked and then drove home and checked again. I don't see anything. I'll keep an eye on it.

I see another Drip... FML. Looks like its above that location, I need to follow it. If it's my power steering I'm going to flip a b.
