id say a few quarts of ATF are out of place :read:
that's what i thought too! i was driving home from work going up a hill in OD about 55-60 and the truck just starts shaking badly then makes a real loud hissing, almost sounded like when an air hose leaks. i limped it home and up my driveway, there's ATF all over the goddamn place. i have roadside assistance in speeddial, they're coming to tow it shortly. i hope they never bring it back.Rednecked_4x4 said:id say a few quarts of ATF are out of place :read:
not sure, not real worried about the driveshaft at this point.GMCtrk said:ummm why don't you have the aluminum driveshaft???
yup, it's been slipping for the last 1000+ miles. i took it in once, the stealership said that unless there was a code in the computer they couldn't do anything about it. at least it's documented and failed close to home.Josh said:no shit, that truck is cursed hovis:imo

I think it goes deeper than that. You have th 5.3L right? If the 4.8 then my bad you have the right driveshaft.
Anyways, all 5.3 and up get the aluminum driveshaft. If you didn't get it then you know atleast one area GM put your truck together wrong. What makes you think then that they didnt put other things together incorectly
GMCtrk said:yes i have the 5.3, wrong driveshaft wouldn't surprise me a bit. i'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with the transmission failing but it's worth bringing up.hovisimo said:I think it goes deeper than that. You have th 5.3L right? If the 4.8 then my bad you have the right driveshaft.

update: tow truck driver could not handle his 30' flatbed, got it stuck in my driveway trying to swing a turn too wide. took a 4x4 F550 wrecker with a winch to get it out. if it's going to take 2+ weeks to fix i'll probably just go pick it up. it has no reverse but limps along in drive enough to get it back to my place to strip it, and to another dealership to trade it in. they can worry about fixing it, it's got a ton of other shit wrong with it and it's time to trade once and for all and end this charade. thanks for your sympathy, if all goes right i won't need it for much longer.

30 alteration of the motor vehicle by the purchaser.
