Got the tranny serviced and i think rearend serviced at 45k......it was after a 300mi trip towing my POS '73 GMC longbed (my silvy has a 4.8L).Whifflebat said:If its running ok and you're gas milage is still good, i woudln't touch them. BUt if it starts running like shit...then its probably time to replace them. If you're that curious you can pull them out and check how worn they are.
For 100k, i'd get a new serpentine belt, flush the cooling system, get the tranny serviced/flushed, and service the rear diff (maybe...its not hard), and top up the wiper fluid. :anitoof:
The plugs are AC Delco Platinum in the trucks, from the factory. I personally run NGK Iridium's but probably wouldn't due to the expense if i didn't have buddy back home at O'reillys. I would check the plugs every so often, say 30k-40k miles, but they'll easily go 100k with platinum or iridium tips. Also go ahead and change your wires while ur doing it if you do. i believe the 4.8s have coil on plug to the wires wouldn't be too difficult at allJeff said:i think its called the AC delco rapidfire?????
alot of performance guys run NGK's, but i think either would be fine
