[Silverado]

I had a steering pop on my 00 silverado and I heard that It needed to be lubed. Since I hate dealing with the dealers my dad and I started looking at the steering and we lubed an expansion joint inside of a rubber grommet under the dash. When we lubed this it solved the steering pop I don't know how long this will fix the problem since I traded off the truck the same day we fixed it. I am not saying this is a perminent solution or that it will solve everyones problem but it worked for me so I thought i'd pass it along hope it helps some of yuo.

Any way you can get pics of where this is? Mines got a bit of pop and im willign to try this, beats going to the dealer.

No sorry I cant help the the pics I need to get a digital camera. look under the dash and follow the steering shaft down the grommet is where the shaft goes through the firewall.

Ok I took a pic of where the steering shaft meets the firewall. So where exactly do you lube it?

werd.. i have this in my 2wd.. usually when im making a 90 degree turn, it pops a few times... is this what you guys are talking about?
